Forest Preschool A 7-Week Spring Forest School Series Forest Preschool is a nature-based early learning program for children ages 2.5–4, offering a gentle introduction to forest school in a small, supportive environment. In this drop-off program, children spend their mornings exploring the forest through play, discovery, and hands-on experiences in nature. Through activities such as loose parts play, nature art, storytelling, short hikes, tool exploration, music, gardening, and seasonal projects, children build confidence, curiosity, independence, and connection with the natural world. Our approach is child-led and experiential, allowing children to learn through movement, creativity, and meaningful real-world experiences. While this is a drop-off program, we understand that transitions can take time. Children are supported at their own pace as they become comfortable exploring the forest environment, and we take a gentle approach to helping each child build confidence and independence outdoors. The morning includes time for exploration, group activities, snack/lunch time, storytelling, and quiet rest moments in nature, creating a balanced rhythm that supports young children as they grow more comfortable in the outdoor learning environment. In a small group setting, children also develop important social and emotional skills while practicing problem solving, cooperation, and resilience outdoors. Program Details • Ages: 2.5–4 years • Day: Thursday Mornings • Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM • Duration: 7-week spring series beginning May 7, 2026 • Location: Morningside Park, Scarborough • Group Size: Limited to 6–8 children for a calm and supportive experience This program runs rain or shine. In the event of severe weather that prevents us from safely running the program, that session will be cancelled and refunded. Forest Preschool helps children build a strong foundation of confidence, independence, curiosity, and connection with nature, while gently preparing them for future forest school programs. Cost: $315 for the full 7-week series Families participating in Forest Preschool receive priority registration for future forest school programs.
