Choose Your Forest School Days
Families are welcome to register for multiple days per week. Each day offers its own opportunities for exploration, skill-building and discovery, with experiences that evolve throughout the year.
Location & Schedule
All programs take place at Morningside Park in Scarborough. Full-year Forest School programs run from September to June. Before and after care are available, and a free trial day is offered.
Our Approach
Our Forest School is child-led, inquiry-based and rooted in experiential learning. Children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, explore their interests and develop skills through meaningful experiences in nature. Each session builds on the children's questions, discoveries and ideas, allowing learning to evolve naturally throughout the year.
What Children Experience
Through hands-on exploration and seasonal experiences, children have opportunities to develop practical outdoor skills, creativity, problem-solving, confidence, independence and a deeper connection with the natural world. Experiences may include fire-making, shelter building, whittling, plant and tree identification, wildlife tracking, nature crafts, gardening, navigation and much more. Older learners, particularly in our Tuesday group, are offered opportunities for more advanced skill-building and leadership.
Guest Educators & Special Workshops
Throughout the year, we welcome guest educators, knowledge keepers and skilled community members to share their knowledge and experience with our students. From herbalists and plant medicine practitioners to Indigenous knowledge keepers, woodworkers, geologists, gardeners, artists and wellness practitioners, these special experiences invite children to explore new areas of interest, develop deeper understanding and learn directly from people with unique skills and knowledge. These connections bring the wider community into our Forest School and create meaningful opportunities for learning beyond our everyday experiences.
Our Educators & Outdoor Learning
Learning is supported by experienced educators, including a Certified Forest School Practitioner, an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) and Child & Youth Workers. Seasonal and land-based teachings are woven throughout the year to deepen children's relationship with the natural world.

We embrace outdoor learning in all weather, with appropriate clothing and preparation. A heated indoor space is available as a backup during severe weather conditions.
